1. What is an adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is contact to a vertebrae, by either hand or an instrument as to align the bone and disc to take pressure off the spinal joints, spinal cord and nerves. This will help restore normal alignment and function to the spinal joints and allow proper nerve supply and blood flow for a healthier body. An optimum functioning spine and nervous system equals optimum health.

2. How does an adjustment feel and how long will it take?

Adjustments to the spine are usually painless. Patients come to us in pain, so many times for them to even move is uncomfortable. Patients report that the first adjustment provides relief in 50% of the patients. However, in other cases this may take more time. Length of time for relief and or correction depends on the type of case.

3. Is Chiropractic safe?

Critics and skeptics who misunderstand Chiropractic often discourage people from considering Chiropractic Care. Usually is concerns adjustment to the neck. These concerns have no base. While 2,000 people die from aspirin each year and thousands more from surgery and drug reactions, Chiropractic is safe. So safe that malpractice for chiropractors costs a fraction of what other types of physicians pay.

4. What research has been done on Chiropractic?

Many research studies over the years have shown Chiropractic to be more affective in the treatment of back injuries resulting in patients returning back to work sooner and more satisfied. Several U.S. States, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Italy as well as Insurance organizations and private groups have been involved in or initiated these studies.

5. Should I be adjusted if I am sick?

An adjustment has the ability to help your body regain control and balance to your immune system to better fight off your condition.

6. Can I be adjusted if I have had an operation on my spine or have old,
weak, brittle, or broken bones?

Yes. There are many very gentle techniques that can be employed. New patients are X-rayed to insure proper diagnosis and insure safety.

7. Can I be adjusted if I am pregnant?

Yes! many pregnant women suffer back pain which may be relieved with Chiropractic adjustments. Being adjusted during pregnancy is not only safe, and may very well make child birth shorter and easier.

8. Can I adjust myself?

NO! Even chiropractors need chiropractors to adjust them. The worst spines are those of people who manipulate their own spines. An adjustment moves a specific bone in a specific direction with lots of training.

9. Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Our Doctors are preferred providers for most major medical plans including Medicare. Referrals from Doctors is not required accept in a rare case.

10. Does Chiropractic really work?

Of course. Chiropractic has been around for over a hundred years. Chiropractic care continues to work for many patients both here and abroad. That is why it has been accepted by virtually all insurance companies including State Industrial Workers Compensation Injuries and Medicare.

12. Should children & babies see a chiropractor?

Yes, having your babies and kids checked by a chiropractor is very important since babies can get out of alignment during the birthing process. Injury in a child left uncorrected can begin to cause problems which may not show up for 10 or 20 years. Chiropractic is completely safe for babies and kids. What is not safe is allowing your child to grow up with the same problems you are experiencing. The best way to discover the difference between them is to experience it for yourself.
