What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care serves as a resource for an alternative drugless approach to relieving and or correcting neck pain, headaches, back pain, spinal injury, and a host of many other conditions.
Many chiropractors utilize Massage Therapy exercise programs, nutritional advise, Spinal Decompression Therapy, as well as other treatment programs to offer you the most efficient road to recovery.
Keehn Chiropractic provides comprehensive care to patients and serves as a resource for alternative medicine. If our patient's require any type of treatment we do not provide we will refer the patient by using a network of alternative and or medical care practitioners to fit their personal need.
How Does Chiropractic Work?
Whether we feel it or not, bones of the spine can move out of place due to slips, jerks and jolts over a lifetime. Stress and chemicals in our air and food can also cause us to lose the balance that helps keep us healthy. This creates pressure on nerves and makes us sick.
Doctors of chiropractic are the only doctors who remove pressure on nerves through gentle “adjustments”. Chiropractors in Denver adjust by pressing with their hands. They also use instruments to put the body in order. When our bodies are moving properly and in alignment we can heal.
We offer Gentle Activator non-force technique as well as manual Gonstead and Thompson Table drop techniques.
Chiropractic care and a regular exercise program can provide enormous benefits to your overall health.
Massage therapy is another important aspect of our corrective care process at Keehn Chiropractic Clinic.
At Keehn Chiropractic, we take great pride in providing the finest active Chiropractic care to injury victims from auto, work, sports or home injuries as well as wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different chiropractic services we offer.
Chiropractic Adjustments - We offer Gentle Activator non-force technique as well as manual Gonstead and Thompson Table drop techniques.
Physical Therapy - As an integral part of your care at Keehn Chiropractic Clinic you will be prescribed a series of non-strenuous exercises designed to facilitate the corrective process. At the beginning of your care you will perform simple stretching techniques and exercises designed to increase your range of motion and loosen tense muscle fibers. When you are out of pain you will continue the stretching exercises but will also incorporate simple strengthening exercises. Finally, in the latter stages of care you will perform core strengthening and stabilizing exercises designed to strengthen the muscles in your specific affected area. These exercises are all designed to stretch and at the appropriate time strengthen the involved musculature so that we present a Lasting change and improvement to your spine. All exercises are supervised by the doctor and skilled and caring physical therapy technicians.
Non-Strenuous Exercises - Chiropractic care and a regular exercise program can provide enormous benefits to your health. At Keehn Chiropractic Clinic we will prescribe Non-Strenuous exercises to be done at home to help strengthen and tone your muscles on a daily basis.
Corrective Care - Corrective care focuses on correcting the real problem behind your symptoms, even after the pain and discomfort are gone. During this phase you will not have to receive adjustments as often as you did in the first stage of care. Your doctor may even be able to give you exercises to help strengthen your spine (which you can do at home) that will help speed up the entire healing process.
Massage Therapy - Massage therapy is another important aspect of our corrective care process at Keehn Chiropractic Clinic. Although the therapy feels fantastic to the patient, the purpose of it is to be a catalyst to the correction of the spine and help restore circulation to the soft tissues (muscles and ligaments) and reduce muscle spasms which are usually a reflex from the spinal pain. The looser and more pliable we can make our patient's muscles and ligaments, the easier it is to align the structures that they surround and control.
Decompression Therapy - Differs from traction. Traction is helpful at treating some of the conditions resulting from disc herniations or degeneration. Spinal Decompression creates a negative pressure or a vacuum inside the disc. This effect causes the disc to pull in the herniation, and the increase in negative pressure also causes the flow of blood and nutrients back into the disc allowing a natural fibroblastic response to heal the injury and re-hydrate the disc.
