Your First Visit
During your first visit in our office, you will meet with one of our doctors who will talk with you one on one about your health history and present complaints to gain a better understanding of your condition and the complexity of your case.
A physical examination will be performed which may include x-rays, neurological, and orthopedic testing, as well as any other diagnostic procedures such as posture analysis. In addition, a careful chiropractic spinal examination and analysis will be performed to look for vertebral subluxations (misalignment). Subluxations occur when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves and joints, ultimately causing pain and dysfunction. Subluxations can be caused from auto accidents, falls, birth trauma, poor posture, sports injuries, poor sleeping habits, and computer work, etc. Chiropractors are specially trained to locate and correct subluxations.
If it is determined based upon the information gathered in your initial consultation, examination, and x-rays that your problems are related to subluxations of your spine, then we will be able to accept your case.
Report of Findings
Before you leave our office, you will be scheduled for the Report of Findings. I am sure that you have all been to a doctor that never took the time to explain things to you. At Keehn Chiropractic Clinic, we have designed the Report of Findings for the sole purpose of explaining what we do, how we do it, and how long it will take to help you. We also provide you with information on how to help get you out of your pain faster, and more importantly how to keep you well for the rest of your life.
We also use this time to show you normal vs. abnormal spinal structure, different choices of care, and the treatment protocol we will utilize in our office. This visit will be in a private one-on-one consultation where we will go over your x-ray and exam findings and you will have the opportunity to ask the doctors any further questions regarding your case.
